The Grey Knights want to see him about his sniper rifle…
Writing this post from the hospital, lol.
Fund Raiser - Helping a friend with funding for a Wedding!
This post is part of the current Fund Raiser where a friend has given me an offer to buy a collection of Warhammer models, the money will go to putting down deposits for his wedding arrangements.
After that I have two other hobby debts to sort out.
I am collecting funds in the following ways:
- Blogging about Warhammer to earn HBD
- Accepting donations - Can be sent directly to @zakl.hobbyfund in HBD
- Selling some of the collection to friends.
The total remaining is $485!
Every bit counts!
Back to the review.
Hello everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa and this is a Warhammer 40k - The Great Unit Review Wheel! post!
Now known as the Unit Review Library!
What is it all about? It is not there to just give a stat. It is there to give MY review of the unit!
Also this has become quite the Challenge! With so many units to review in the game the consensus in the hobby community is that I will not have enough time to review all of the Datasheets before the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 came out.
I should have started when 10th edition launched!
604 days since the start of 10th Edition.
This is Review #233, I am 371 reviews behind! (Lowest I have been is 314 behind)
January 2025 we are expecting Astra Militarum and Aeldari codexes as explained Here, so time to focus on THOSE Datasheets!
Aeldari, Illic Nightspear
10th Edition Index
I have it on fairly good authority that Illic Nightspear will not be in the new Aeldari Codex. So play him while you can!
Sometimes characters leave and come back. Sometimes they die. I don't know if this character features much in the lore.
Illic is like a super Pathfinder hero. Many unit types end up with a hero version of them. In the case of the Aspect Warriors, the Phoenix Lords are their special characters.
Pathfinders are scouts and snipers, but they are not an Aspect Temple.
Oh and the reason I said the the Grey Knights want to see him about his sniper rifle is because it can rip open mini rifts to the warp! Dangerous!
You can field Illic for 70pts but he is no longer for sale.
Let's check his stats.
Stats
Movement 7"
Toughness 3
Save 5+/5++ (armor/invul/Feel No Pain)
Wounds 3
Ld 6+
OC 1
Weapons
Ranged Weapons
Voidbringer
48" Range, 1 Shot, Hitting on 2+, S6, AP-3 and 3 Damage each.
Heavy (This weapon gets a +1 to hit while stationery)
Devastating Wounds (Rolls of a 6 to Wound cause Mortal Wounds)
Precision (Wounds can be allocated directly to Leaders in a unit)
Shuriken Pistol
12" Range, 1 Shot, Hitting on 2+, S4, AP-1 and 1 Damage each.
Pistol (This weapon can be fired while in engagement range of enemies.)
Melee Weapons
Aeldari Power Sword
4 Attacks, Hitting on 2+, S4, AP-2 and 1 Damage each.
Abilities
Infiltrator - This model (Pathfinders have this too) may be set up in No Man's Land more that 9" away from the enemy Deployment Zone.
Stealth - When firing at this model, enemies suffer a -1 to Hit.
Bringer of True Death
While leading a unit, the unit can re-roll the roll the Wound.
Hunter Unseen
This model's unit can only be selected as a target of a ranged attack if the attacking model is within 12".
Thoughts
This guy apparently has killed hundreds of thousands of targets... 1 shot at a time... Aeldari sure live long...
Anyway, making a unit of Rangers un-targetable until you are right on top of them and then possibly keeping another unit nearby focussed on Close combat to assist them might be a good way of setting up a neat scary firebase unit.
However, Illic will not be in the new Codex so.. we shall see what shenanigans they will have in the new book.
That makes 49 Aeldari Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 81.66% Completed. The total Completed is 25.43% Complete! Can I review them all?!
Thank you for reading!
