Hi Everyone,

One of the dessert shops I wanted to visit in Bangkok was Yolk which sells Hong Kong style egg tarts with a twist. Founded by Inn Sarin who is a Thai actor, the tarts are popular due to the flaky croissant-like crust paired with custard that balances sweetness and richness perfectly with a hint of caramel in the middle if you order the original tarts which is the best seller. My Thai friends who I was with would drive especially to get these tarts if they were around the area because they are that good.

Apart from the original flavours which sold at 95 baht each (around $5AUD which isn’t cheap!) you could also get flavours like Uji Matcha Mochi & Super Vanilla Crème Brûlée Egg Tart which differs from the original greatly and prices were around 140 baht each (around $7). My friends that day bought a box of six original for $550 baht and this was around 6pm. If you go any later like after dinner, everything would have been sold out which has occurred for me for many days.

If you are into egg tarts and don’t mind splurging on something a little special, make sure to stop by Yolk. They also opened a new store in Siam Paragon recently so can’t wait to check out that branch. Inn also have another dessert store which I will introduce at a later date, I would consider it is a must go if you are a dessert lover!
