Solo trip and getting lost are like two things that always go hand in hand, right? There are always interesting stories about getting lost when we explore alone to a new place. Like when I wanted to find a dimsum seller in the Gede market in Surakarta city.
Actually, looking for dimsum was not included in my visit list. It's just that, because my friend said that while I really wanted to go to Gede market, it would be nice if I also tried the famous dimsum.
However, instead of focusing on dimsum, I actually want to show you some parts of the Gede market when I got lost looking for a dimsum seller. So let's follow the results of my exploration.
You can see the facade of the legendary Gede market. Isn't this great. Why does something old and antique always have a strange but pleasant impression? Sometimes it creates a nostalgic sensation, but sometimes it creates an effect like a liminal space, but sometimes the two feelings mix together.
Apart from the front, I also took pictures of the side which is used for stalls, some stalls were closed but because this big market has two parts, the part for fruits, meat and vegetables was still crowded.
You know what's unfortunate, besides dimsum there is also a coffee shop recommended by my friend. It turned out to be closed on the day of my visit. That's the journey, there are things beyond expectations that sometimes we have to face with an open heart. I took pictures of the food court which is on the same floor as the dimsum and coffee shop that I mentioned earlier.
But, if you look at the food court, with a high ceiling design, this will benefit the air circulation. So even though this is a traditional market without AC, this room is not too hot with just a regular fan.
After buying dimsum which the writing about has been uploaded in this community too, I finally rushed down and headed to the next destination, namely the Surakarta Palace. So maybe in the next post, I will write about the Surakarta Palace. Please wait. Thank you for reading. Bye..
