I love doodles

In the past, I doodled quite a lot and I even remember always doodling whenever I was at school during classes and while being on the phone with friends. There was always a little notebook with a pen and I'd doodle whatever came to mind. It's a shame I wasn't able to keep any of these drawings and doodles from my childhood and that most things got lost while moving out of the house and later country. Oh well, I'm definitely not making the same mistake with my daughter's artworks though, they are being kept for sure until she decides she doesn't want them anymore.

Metallic markers

Since a few years, I've picked up several sets of metallic markers of which some are really great and others a bit so-so, especially when used on black paper. The reason I bought them was in fact to make some cool stuff on black paper so it's a bit disappointing if the markers don't come out as great as I thought upon trying them. But as I had them laying around for far too long now, I decided it was time to try and get the creative hat on once again to make sure the markers wouldn't dry out which would be a shame.

Doodle time it is!

Black paper

I bought some cool book of white, brown and black paper in A4 size in a budget store for these purposes as sometimes I just like to use something different than a white background and I started adding lines to the paper. Below the steps of the doodle that I managed to capture while drawing.

I didn't finish it at once, I took several days to add lines and think about the next steps. As you will notice in the next paragraph, I ended up deciding that the doodle looked better upside down so I flipped it for the final result.

After this part it took me a few more days before I finished it as I was a bit tired of not having too many colour options that looked great on black paper.

The end result

But in the end I think the result was cool. After all, it's a doodle. My daughter immediately wanted to confiscate it but I said I'd add it to my other drawings as they are quite rare and I honestly prefer collecting them together so they don't get lost. From time to time I come across them and get inspired again, which I so need because I miss being creative.

Currently I'm not able to draw anything as my carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands is avoiding me from doing so. Therefore I will cherish this one for now, lol.

Do you ever doodle? Where do you find inspiration?
