Hello everyone!

Today I decided to ask AI, more in detail: ChatGPT what it knows about Arcade Colony. I have done the same about Splinterlands in the past and it was quite interesting. Will probably try it again for Splinterlands in the near future as well. To see if the 'knowledge' of ChatGPT has changed concerning Splinterlands. Always interesting to see if there is an evolution in one way or the other. But as said, today, I will talk about Arcade Colony. For those of you who are unaware, it's an arcade gaming platform being developed by Invennium Corp, which is a subsidiary of Splinterlands. The games at the platform are so far: Moonkarts, Stakehouse Den and Hyper Rail Blaster. I decided to ask the simple question: 'What can you tell me about arcade colony' to ChatGPT. Let's see what it explained me:

I pasted the answer in the different alineas it gave me. As that's easier to explain and give my opinion about the answer. But the total of the different screenshots were the complete answer ChatGPT gave to me to my question. As you can see in above text, ChatGPT gives a similar explanation as I did for Arcade Colony. BUT it was definitely more precise compared to me. Guess ChatGPT knows it better than I do, oops. Anyways, it explains that Arcade Colony wants to connect web2 and web3, which is indeed their purpose as explained in their whitepaper. Besides that aspect they list several elements that they utilize to transform the web2 games to web3 games.

Overall thus a good explanation in my eyes. Maybe a bit off-topic but I think Arcade Colony has a great purpose by combining traditional arcade games and web3 elements. Already a lot of different casino games exist in web3 version, but arcade games is a great addition. Who didn't love to play Mario Kart when he was younger, or even now ;)

Platform overview

After its introduction about Arcade Colony, ChatGPT explained me more details about the platform as you can see in the following image:

Arcade Colony indeed wants to collect several different games on its platform. Compared to Splinterlands, that's one game. Arcade Colony really wants to publish several different games on its website. It's obvious for web3 games that there is a marketplace. That's the whole point, you own your assets and you can trade them. As you usually have different assets and different tokens, it's quite normal that you are able to manage these belongings in one central place which is called an account dashboard. The smart contract platform is probably one of the most interesting aspects as it gives tools for publishers to let players mint, transfer and rent their tokens. Another aspect is a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO), which makes sure that the platform is owned by its users rather than by a centralized company. The token used herefor is the COLONY token.

I think ChatGPT has quite well understood what Arcade Colony is all about. So kudos for that. Under each alinea, you see the sources which are used, ofcourse the whitepaper is mentioned, makes totally sense. It baffles me always how good AI is able to summarize a certain piece of texts and combining several pieces of text.

Featured games

Afterwards it gave some information about the different games which are available on the platform. These are correct, the same ones as I already described in my intro. Let's have a look if the explanations are correct as well:

Moon Karts was indeed the first game which launched on Arcade Colony. It is indeed play-2-earn with the theme of karting. It reminds me of Mario Kart, you have to build your kart with different characteristics and than you can race on different circuits. You can receive tokens which could be sold, so you could make a dime. Don't be fooled though, the competition is fierce as everyone wants to grab a piece of the pie.

Hyper Rail Blaster is in demo at the moment, you can already try out the game but there are no rewards so far. It's indeed an arcade shooter game, kind of like space invaders. I am eager to see how they will make it play-2-earn though.

The third game available is Stakehouse Den. It's actually rather a combination of different casino-style games which are available. So far, you can play slots, blackjack and roulette. You can already play the games but you can't earn yet real rewards. Guess these will come soon.

Once again, ChatGPT described the games quite accurate, the only small detail which it didn't have completely correct is Stakehouse Den as it's not a single game but rather a combination of different casino games.

Tokenomics

I have already talked about COLONY, well besides COLONY there is another token, called SCRIPT. Let's see what ChatGPT could tell us about these tokens:

1000011753.png

It explains indeed the two tokens which are related to Arcade Colony: Script and Colony. Script is indeed the stablecoin, pegged to a value of $1, which is used for in-game transactions. Colony could be staked for higher rewards, is the governance token which is used for the DAO.

Once again ChatGPT is correct about the tokens. It just points out which tokens exist without doing any predictions about what would be best to buy. It would probably be another interesting question to ask for more details.

Marketplace & revenue model

As already described, there is a marketplace available on Arcade Colony, ChatGPT explains it a bit more in the following alinea:

1000011754.png

You can indeed buy, sell and rent in-game assets. There is a fee structure, that's how the company behind Arcade Colony earns its income. The fee structure is explained by ChatGPT. 1% goes to the DAO, 1% to Invennium (Company behind Arcade Colony), 2% to the sales platform (Although I am not really sure what is meant by that) and 2% will be burned to reduce the total supply.

Future developments

It's always good to have a look at what you have but don't forget to focus on the future as well. That's exactly the thought of ChatGPT as well. In the last alinea, it describes the future developments which could be expected concerning Arcade Colony:

1000011755.png

Reduced fees and increased rewards, that's ofcourse something that sounds great in our ears. BUT I hope they will keep it sustainable. If the games are fun, players will play anyway. The battle arena's are great. Playing a game is fun, but playing a game against others is even more fun in my eyes. Moonkart is already available to play against eachother. We'll see if that will be available for other games as well.

At the end, it mentions where someone could get more information as well, the official website and the discord. Both have a working link, which is excellent as that way you could go and ask for more information.

Conclusion

I think ChatGPT did a great job in describing what Arcade Colony is. There were nearly no errors, it was detailed, actually very detailed and gives a great overview. For those of you who haven't tried it out, go out there and have a look yourself!

Disclaimer: The images are from ChatGPT as explained in the post, all the text written is done by myself. I tried to comment on what ChatGPT wrote, so in my eyes it's original content.
