Hello everyone, Welcome to my Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge post. In this post, I'll talk about my favorite powerful combo against magic attacks, and more, as well as an amazing battle. Also, I will give some tips and advice. I hope it will be useful for you.
Magic attacks ignore armor and hit enemies' health directly. Units with magic attacks can attack from any position and do not miss (only has a chance to miss the Phase ability), meaning they always hit. That's why they can be very effective in battles, and many players, myself included, are more inclined to favor units with magic attacks in battles.
The combo of Magic Reflect and Amplify are really useful against Magic attacks, so it's one of my favorite combos. Units with Magic Reflect return 50% of damage to attacker (rounded up) when hit by a magic attack, and it's a great way to make your opponents with magic attacks suffer. I also recommend including Amplify ability in your lineup to make magic attackers suffer more, as Amplify increases damage of Magic Reflect for all friendly units by 1 (does not stack). It is a very brutal, very powerful and useful combo against magic attacks, so it is my favorite combo against magic attackers.
Void ability takes 50% less damage (rounded up) from magic attacks or 0 damage from magic attacks of 1 power. Therefore, Magic Reflect (and Amplify combination) may not be very useful against Void ability. And Void Ability is very useful against magic attacks so I highly recommend including Void ability in your lineup against magic attackers. Let's examine an example of what I explained above in the battle below.
BATTLE
Battle Ruleset
- Taking Sides: You cannot summon neutral units.
- Reverse Speed: Units with the lowest speed attack first and have the highest chance to evade attacks.
Also, in this battle, I will prefer Helmet Kharafax, Aves Sturgis and Pelacor Conjurer, which is my favorite triple combination in low-mana battles. They really do a great job in low mana battles and help me win a lot of battles. Pelacor Conjurer has Flying and Magic Reflect, while Helmet Kharafax has Bloodlust, Scavenger, Void, and Magic Reflect, and both are very very useful against magic attacks. But both of them have no attacking power and that's why I put Aves Sturgis with Weapons Training ability in the middle of them to give them some magic attack power. I highly recommend trying this strategy in low mana battles.
I knew that the opposing player would prefer Units with magic attacks, so in addition to my strategy above, I added Blinding Reflector with Magic Reflect to my team and put him in the first position. Also, Tank Heal is useful in most battles, so I always include it in my lineup when I have the chance. And I added Venari Crystalsmith with Tank Heal and put her in the fifth position, and of course I added Dax Paragon with Amplify and put him in the last position.
Battle Comments
My opponent's strategy was also very good, and they had more powerful cards. Also, I was not surprised that my opponent used Magic Reflect and Amplify combo because many players prefer this combo against magic attacks. However, my lineup had 3 Units with Magic Reflect, one of which was Gladiator Helmet Kharafax, so my opponent's strategy didn't stand a chance. Helmet Kharafax is a very powerful Gladiator and can be incredibly effective, especially when has attack power. And Helmet Kharafax was very effective in this battle too.
In the battle, all enemies with with magic attacks were destroyed by the back damage from the Magic Reflect and Amplify combo, which clearly showed how useful this combo is. Also, Helmet Kharafax's stats were admirable.
The battle lasted only 3 rounds and my team managed to win the battle. At the end of the battle, Helmet Kharafax had 6 magic attacks, 7 Speed, 5 armor, 17 health, which is why he is one of my favorite gladiators. This battle is a good example of how the combo of Magic Reflect and Amplify abilities can be very useful against magic attacks, and I highly recommend watching it on the battle link if you have time.
