Hello Moonkarts Lovers,
Whether you are an old soul or a new user who has just spent a little time on the Hive blockchain lately, there is a chance that you have seen Moonkarts posts appearing around your feed. And if you have not looked into it yet, well, then my friend, you are missing out on the real fun. Moonkarts is not just another boring blockchain-based 2D game with cards and idle strategy. Moonkarts is actually a full-fledged 3D racing game with real action, real rewards and real players. If you have ever played arcade racing games like Mario Kart, then you will surely love this fresh Web3 game as well, not to mention that it will keep you engaged even more with its crypto rewards and the pure adrenaline rush while competing with other racers. Now talking about me, I have been grinding in this kart racing game for nearly three months now, and today, I want to walk you through my in-game progress and latest milestone, as I have gladly crossed staking 445,000 Colony tokens. So, if you are interested and want to know more, let’s take a jump without any further ado.
What Makes Moonkarts So Different?
If you are a blockchain game enthusiast like me and are always eager to play and test newly launched games, then you must have noticed that most of these blockchain games mainly rely on 2D UI, card-based and slow strategy mechanics with little to no engagement in the game apart from selecting cards and stuff. Now, of course, we are in a rising industry making its baby steps, but in order for a gaming project to thrive, it must be fun to play first of all. Gladly with Moonkarts, it seems like they have identified this demand in the web3 gaming realm and developed a game that is breaking the walls. First of all, Moonkarts is a full-fledged 3D arcade-style racing game and when you enter this game, you will actually feel like you a playing a proper game. In Moonkarts, you can build your own racing kart setup with different karts, parts and drivers, race in real time against other players while earning in-game crypto rewards based on your performance. Moonkarts is thrilling, colourful, addictive and most importantly, it is built on our beloved Hive blockchain, which means your game assets (NFTS, Tokens, etc) are secure and the economy is transparent.
Moonkarts Tokens
To really understand how Moonkarts works, let us first break down the two main tokens in its economy.
Colony ($COLONY)
Colony is the in-game reward and the governance token of Moonkarts, just like the Sps token in the Splinterlands game. You can earn Colony tokens simply by racing and placing yourself in the top 3, collecting on-track colony tokens or through leaderboard rewards at the end of each ranked season. The more you race, the more you can earn this token and you can also stake this token to boost your earnings per race.
Script ($SCRIPT)
Script is the other token of Moonkarts and it is treated as the stablecoin in this game, much like the Dec token in the Splinterlands game. In Moonkarts, you stake Script with NFT cards to produce Fuel, which is needed to play multiplayer races and win colony rewards. Fuel is an important non-tradable in-game asset which is the only key to play in multiplayer racing mode and without fuel, no racing and hence, no earnings.
Why I’m Staking Colony
Besides earning Colony from playing multiplayer races in Moonkarts, there is a Colony staking multiplier system that entirely controls the game reward distribution system. The more Colony tokens you stake, the greater the multiplier is applied in your account and hence, you earn more from your race rewards. So in short, both your in-game performance and Colony staking amount work together to increase your payout.
For example, if my rating is around 2000, a stake of 450,000 Colony would give me just under a 20x reward multiplier. That means I would be earning close to 20 times more Colony tokens as a reward per race than someone playing with no Colony stake. Now, as your rating goes up during a ranked season, the staking requirement to keep that multiplier also increases gradually. So basically, it is like compound interest, the more you stake, the more you earn, and the faster you grow in this game.
Reached 445K Colony Staked
I have been increasing my Colony stake slowly but steadily and before entering Season 23, I had 425K Colony staked in my in-game wallet. But after playing throughout the season and collecting my leaderboard rewards, I boosted my total colony stake to a whopping 446,038 Colony tokens. This stake gives me a current multiplier of 19.46x at a ranking point of 1500 in Season 24. And I can already feel the difference, as even at the start of the season, my daily colony earnings have visibly increased. With the increased colony stake, every race will now add more colony tokens than before. So you can clearly see, it is not just about playing more, it is actually about playing smarter and following a strategy.
Season 24 Progress
Each Moonkarts ranked season lasts for only 10 days, and we have already lost two days for this ongoing ranked season. I have been keeping up daily by playing races in multiplayer, collecting on-track colony and Orbitals to earn the most amount possible. The leaderboard grind in Moonkarts is really hard to be honest, but with the reward multiplier in action, it feels more rewarding than ever. So far this season, I am trying to race at least 20+ times a day. Next, I always focus on picking up on track Colony and Orbitals to increase my earnings and gladly, right now I am at the top 5 in both the Ranked and Orbital leaderboards. I believe if I continue with this strategy and improve my rating, one day I may become strong enough and might even break into the top 3, which would mean significantly higher rewards than what I am earning right now. So, let’s keep playing and see where it takes me.
