En la universidad, yo tengo que ver una materia que es electiva, como un complemento de la carrera, pero que es estrictamente necesaria. En mi caso, la materia electiva que tengo que ver en el área de diseño gráfico es la fotografía. Tengo que ver la fotografía I y fotografía II. Ahorita estamos viendo mucha teoría y estamos como haciendo cosas muy por encima, ya que ninguno de nosotros tiene una cámara profesional ni nada que se le acerque, la gran mayoría solo tenemos nuestros teléfonos, pero la profesora está haciendo todo lo posible porque podamos entender un poco mejor, como es esto ahora pequeña escala. Es por eso que invitó a un profesional de la fotografía que también es el señor gráfico para que nos diera una clase especial, y eso fue lo que tuvimos hoy.

At university, I have to take an elective course that complements my degree program but is strictly necessary. In my case, the elective course I have to take in the area of graphic design is photography. I have to take Photography I and Photography II. Right now we are learning a lot of theory and we are just scratching the surface, since none of us have a professional camera or anything close to it. Most of us only have our phones, but the teacher is doing everything possible to help us understand a little better, since this is now on a small scale. That's why she invited a professional photographer, who is also a graphic designer, to give us a special class, and that's what we had today.

En esta clase es lo primero que hicimos fue un taller teórico sobre los aspectos muy básicos de la fotografía, como él hizo, el balance de blancos y las diferentes perspectivas que hay. Hay términos que yo conocía y otros que no tanto, así que estuve tomando unos cuantos apuntes para que me quedara mucho mejor la información. Luego estuvimos haciendo la parte práctica, ya que el fotógrafo estuvo llevando su cámara y cada uno de nosotros iba a tomar una foto y esta iba a ser evaluada. En mi caso, la foto que tomé fue un busto de la que se encuentra en la plaza central de la universidad, que se viera. Con el objetivo que se hubiera imponente, es por eso que la perspectiva venía desde abajo y la verdad quedó bastante bien. Primero hice las prácticas con mi teléfono y luego me tocó hacer las prácticas con la cámara. Un proceso que, es la verdad, no me tomó más de cinco minutos.

In this class, the first thing we did was a theoretical workshop on the very basics of photography, such as how he did it, white balance, and the different perspectives that exist. There were terms that I knew and others that I didn't know so well, so I took a few notes to help me remember the information better. Then we did the practical part, as the photographer brought his camera and each of us took a photo, which was then evaluated. In my case, the photo I took was of a bust located in the central square of the university, so that it could be seen. I wanted it to look imposing, which is why I took the photo from below, and it actually turned out quite well. First, I practiced with my phone, and then I practiced with the camera. The whole process took me less than five minutes, to be honest.

No es que no sea una experta tomando fotos, pero han de estar tanto tiempo en el mundo digital, uno aprende ciertas cosas. Cuando uno, cuando somos personas autodidactas, la verdad es que hacemos las cosas sin conocer de toda la teoría, y cuando vamos conociendo la teoría de una forma más profesional, muchas cosas tienen sentido. En mi caso siempre me pasa mucho, ya que se hace un montón de cosas y algunas ni siquiera sé cómo las sé hacer. Este día la verdad de los rezos estuvo bastante bueno y me gustó aprender un poco de esto, me encantaría tener una cámara profesional algún día o por lo menos algo que se acerca un poco, porque la verdad es que la calidad de las fotos es demasiado buena y se puede lograr resultados geniales, lo cual es muy bueno para complementar el diseño gráfico en la era Digital. It's not that I'm an expert at taking photos, but when you spend so much time in the digital world, you learn certain things. When we are self-taught, the truth is that we do things without knowing all the theory, and when we learn the theory in a more professional way, many things make sense. In my case, this happens a lot, as I do a lot of things and some of them I don't even know how I know how to do. This day was really good, and I enjoyed learning a little bit about this. I would love to have a professional camera someday, or at least something close to it, because the truth is that the quality of the photos is too good, and you can achieve great results, which is very good for complementing graphic design in the digital age.
