Hello Splinterlands Summoners and welcome to another edition of Splinterlands Social Media Challenge! My beloved Chaos Legion will be moving out of Modern League pretty soon into the Wild League. Another new set, the Conclave Arcana will take its place in the Modern League. In preparation, I bought my first ten standard packs for forty thousand DEC. This will entitle me to one copy of the promo card, Arcane Skinwalker. It also gives me forty raffle entries for a chance to win exciting prices.
For today's post, I'll be sharing one battle where I took advantage of the Blast ability. I had three units in my team with that ability and using them all in one battle is...a blast!
Battle Ruleset and Splinters Available
The rulesets are:
Aimless - All units with magic and ranged have Scattershot ability. This makes the Blast ability more damaging since it can hit more units.
Even Stevens - Only even mana costs units can be used in battle. The Water Splinter has great even mana cost units that's why I chose them.
Aim True - All units gain the True Strike ability.
The available units are:
Water, Death, Earth and Dragon. I chose Water because of the strong even mana units also Water has the fastest units and I like to attack first.
My Team
Kelya Frendul (summoner)
Kelya buffs the team with an armor and speed. The Water splinter are already fast units so adding more speed grants them a distinct advantage over other splinters.
Commander Slade (tank)
Commander Slade has become my favorite tank in the Water team replacing the Diemonshark. He is a very capable tank with four melee damage, five speed, six armor and nine health. His abilities help him dodge and debuff the enemy tank. His only weakness so far is his lack of defense against magic attacks.
Pirate of Eight (second position)
Pirate of Eight is a card from the Rebellion set. I bought her because she is a low mana unit with Reach and Blast abilities at level one. She is a great unit to use in low mana battles.
Deep Lurker (third position)
Deep Lurker is my most used unit in the Water splinter. It has a strong four melee attack and speed of three. It has the Opportunity and Poison abilities that is devastating to low health enemy units.
Riverboat Captain (fourth position)
The Riverboat Captain deals two magic damage and has the Blast ability. It's one of the best cards that came out from the Soulbound rewards.
Chaos Battle Mage (fifth position)
The Chaos Battle Mage is a legendary reward card. It deals three ranged damage and has four speed. For sustainability it has one armor and five health. To complement its three range damage, it has the Piercing ability that allows it to do damage in excess of the target's armor.
Sergeant Grauzral (sixth position)
Sergeant Grauzral is another legendary reward card. I recently levelled her up to two and she gained the Blast ability. She is a great unit to use in Noxious Fumes ruleset because of her Immunity.
The Opponent Team
My opponent chose a magic team, a weakness of Commander Slade. However, the Aimless ruleset means that they won't be targetting him specifically. The Earth team is also very slow which will allow my team to eliminate them before they can do damage.
The Battle
Aside from being slower, the enemy team has lower health unit overall. They also deal less damage than my team. The enemy tank has less defensive and health stats than Commander Slade and its Thorns ability doesn't work on my tank. The Blast ability from three of my units also did their job in damaging the enemy. The battle was over in three rounds with my team only losing one unit.
Farewell to Chaos Legion
Most of my time playing Splinterlands, I have mostly used the Chaos Legion set. I will certainly miss the familiarity I have with this set and the ease I have when choosing teams in battle. The Conclave Arcana set presents a new era for Splinterlands and one I'm excited for. I will learn new strategies and team synergies and keep having fun with this game.
