One of the headaches of the players of MoonKarts is the previous Orbital system technicalities. It's very simple, yet it's counter dynamic for a friendly / community-driven game. Imagine a race track having only 6 orbital runes, each player needs to get three orbitals but the race track can accommodate a maximum of six players?
Even with three players, it's not a fun game at all as players will try to push their luck to get 3 orbs. Worst, they'll get more than 3. However, the saddest part is that you need to get 3 orbitals, if you get two or one, then there's no orbital rewards points for you. That's the sad part. So this is the reason why the race tract is being flooded lately with a lot of missiles / bombing / war, because the system is designed in a such a way that users will fight against each other.
But with the recent update, I like it because of the following:
- There is no minimum required, you can get 1, 2, 3 or even 6 orbitals.
- Getting 6 orbitals is the previous highest orbital points possible (at 3 orbs)
You know what's the good thing of it? Players can now focus on either getting COLONY or ORBITALS in race track. Since getting 6 orbitals takes so much of their time, then definitely it's going to be very tough to balance. Some users prefer to get Colony as they can't benefit with Orbital points since they have a very low staking factor. Some will go into the full extent of getting Orbitals since they get a very high orbital points because they got a good setup.
So right now, I'm liking the update honestly. That's why it's going to be even more fun when the mobile version comes out! I just think they need more packs to sell. Right now, it's being held by only a few people.
