Hello dear hivers! It’s been a while since I last uploaded a blog. I’ve been really busy these past few weeks because of our internship. My schedule was so crazy that even finding time to sleep felt impossible. Anyways, for today’s blog, I’ll share with you our recent hangout with my friends and our favorite street foods. So here it is!
Me and my high school friends rarely hang out these days since we all have different schedules and priorities. We only communicate through Messenger or IG to plan meetups that never actually happen. HAHAH LOL. But even though we’ve gone our separate ways for college (two of my friends are studying in Padua, and the rest of us are in different schools), our bond remains the same. Although we don’t get to see each other often due to our busy schedules, but we always try to catch up whenever we can. This time, we finally made it happen! It’s crazy how much time has passed since high school, but when we’re together, it feels like nothing has changed.
After weeks of trying to schedule our meetup, we finally decided to bond over something we all love—street food! Back in high school, we would always grab some after school because, aside from being our comfort food, it was also the only snack we could afford. Unlike others who could casually stop by Starbucks for a coffee whenever they craved one, we found joy in the simple things. And honestly, that was more than enough.
While walking around the plaza, we saw a small street food store with a sign, "Unlimited Street Food for only 99 pesos!" We couldn’t believe our eyes! Hotdogs, kikiam, tempura, fishballs, and kwek-kwek—unlimited for just 99 pesos? It was a dream come true for us street food lovers!
Without second thought, we entered the stall and paid 99 pesos. We loaded up our plates with tempora, hotdogs, fishball, kwek-kwek, and sweet and sour sauce. We ate to our hearts’ content, and even when we were already full, we couldn’t help grabbing a little more.
But the thing is, drinks weren’t included in the 99-peso deal, but that’s not a problem because we didn’t mind spending a little extra since everything was still super affordable.
After eating street food, we decided to head to a nearby café for some iced macchiatos. We’re all coffee lovers, so it felt like the perfect way to end our day. While sitting inside the café we continued our unfinished chitchats about out college lives, the challenges we’ve faced, and how much we’ve changed (or not changed) over the years.
One thing I am so grateful about this friendship is that, despite the years and the distance, we’re still the same group of friends who just get each other. This remind me of how important it is to make time for the ones who matter. We may not see each other often, but I know our friendship will always be strong.
Thanks for reading. Till my next blog😉
