Today is the 2nd day of May 2025. The month of April has come to an end and it's interesting to have a bigger sales volume than the previous month. From the distriator app, its easy to see the figures for April sales - 708 HBD. As a big promoter of SpendHBD and a business owner, higher sales volume do translate to higher generation of revenue. I really hope that we will keep on breaking the records set in the previous months.
A few other starts to look at
You could easily see from the screenshots above how much we did in March. The figures for April is definitely a little higher than March. Each month provides the focal point for the next one. The month of March finished with a sales volume of HBD while this month of April crosses the 700 HBD mark as you could see above. That sets the pace for the month of May 2025. Could we be looking at the 1k HBD mark? We will wait and see.
Beyond just the amount of HBD spent, it is also good to look at other important figures of the month of April. The number of transactions performed at Happy Customer Supermarket in April was 117. That is pretty impressive given that this business is barely two months old and pushing a payment method not popular or known before. Going forward we also have that as market to push that number up by the time May 2025 comes to an end. More transactions would mean that we are getting more people to try and use HBD.
It would also be great to know how much HBD was claimed at the business in April. Look at the chat above and you will be impressed - the number is 152 HBD. That's really great. Again it could be bigger in May if I try to have more new sign ups as well as making old users repeat their purchases. That is a pretty good area to look at again.
For this month of April, we didn't have so much starts in terms of new sign ups. Of course putting everything together has not been very easy. Trying to stock and restock, plus speaking to creditor's about more funding took majority of our time in April. But going forward, the month of May and other months ahead would see us reset to the important business of onboarding and mentorship.
More Workshops, Onboarding and retention in May 2025
We are just two days into the month of May. Already, we have goals set and they are to align with the overall mission of SpendHBD. So going forward, I will be organising more workshops. The goal in that regard is to do at least 2 workshops per week. That will be an opportunity to tell new friends about this project and get them onboarded. Just as I did in months before March, the documentation after each workshop would show the newbies onboarded.
Retention of newbies has been a key challenge on Hive generally and I have not paid a lot of attention in that area. However, I will be making sure to get newbies to stay in the loop going forward. That would mean making sure to be in touch with the new friends and encouraging them to add value to the blockchain by transactions and creating content. Each report will try to capture how much new users are being retained.
Finally, I will try to get listed businesses to start accepting HBD. Unfortunately, starting a new business has never been easy. So starting happy Customer supermarket affected the momentum I was building with other listed businesses. That will change going forward. I will start to visit other listed businesses and help them resume HBD activity. I have already started that with God's Own Supermarket. We can build a bigger ecosystem with more businesses accepting HBD.
