Ingredients

For the Chicken Shawarma:

๐Ÿฅ„ 3 tablespoons tahini
๐Ÿง‚ Salt to taste
๐ŸŒฟ Parsley, chopped, for garnish


Instructions

1- Marinate the Chicken:

  • In a large bowl, combine the smoked paprika, cumin, coriander, salt, garlic powder, turmeric, black pepper, shawarma spice, and lemon juice.
  • Add the chicken thigh strips to the bowl, mixing well to ensure the chicken is thoroughly coated with the spices.
  • Cover the bowl and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 to 2 hours, or longer if possible for deeper flavor.

2- Cook the Chicken:

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the marinated chicken to the skillet, cooking until fully cooked through, approximately 15 to 20 minutes. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.

3- Prepare the Tahini Sauce:

  • In a small bowl, combine the yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, vinegar, and tahini.
  • Mix well until the sauce is smooth. Add salt to taste and garnish with chopped parsley.

4- Assemble the Shawarma:

  • Serve the cooked chicken wrapped in warm flatbread or pita.
  • Drizzle with the creamy tahini sauce.
