On a parallel holo-earth, one of the Holozing creatures, named Wrackoo, decided to fulfill his dream of being a pirate. It didn't matter to him that he was a grass-type creature with traits typical of a terrestrial being.
The first chance she got, she abandoned everything to cross the sea in her small sailboat. Numerous were the adventures he lived and, due to them, his body underwent radical changes, to the point of losing an eye. Even his own base element looked more like an algae type and not the grass type he was born with.

En una holo-tierra paralela, una de las criaturas de Holozing, llamada Wrackoo, decidió cumplir su sueño de ser pirata. No le importó que fuese una criatura de tipo hierba con rasgos típicos de un ser terrestre.

I will start working from an anthropomorphic silhouette with a huge long jacket on top and, at the top, an ovoid shaped head and a hat. Then I will add all the details, starting with the hat and finishing with the tail and the sword. Not satisfied yet, I will go over some strokes of the lineart to make them thicker.

The background design will be worked in three parts, although the third one, which corresponds to the sky and the sea, will not be present in the lineart. I started by drawing the deck of the ship and I had to play a bit with the sizes, so let's assume that it is not a huge ship as such, but rather a light sailboat. In a second part, I added the mast with the sail, as well as the ropes and the ladders that support the ship.

After touching up a bunch of other things, I got the lineart ready and started with the first layer of color. I will apply the color first on the exposed parts of Wrackoo's body, which should have the original colors of the drawing and correspond to ears, face, hands, feet, and tail.
By the way, there are things I didn't mention earlier that are more relevant to coloring. On the inside of the eye patch I gave a bluish tone so that it didn't look like a section of the drawing was missing, and the tail I made by mixing the vulva design from the original drawing, but in the center I added a raccoon tail. Lastly, since she is wearing a hat on her head, the forehead leaf was not going to show, so I added a seaweed that falls to one side. You know that the grassy Wrackoo has a leaf; this Wrackoo has a seaweed because it is in the sea.

Remember I said I would work the lineart of the background in different parts, because with the first layer of color it will not be different and this time the sky and the sea will be worked on. For the ship's planking, I used several wood tones, starting with a pine centered color for the planking and some variations of mahogany and oak on the sides.
For the mast, I used the same tone as the planking, but a little darker. The sail I will not paint white, but use a light gray tone and work on it later. I will do the same with the sky and the sea, which for now will be light and dark blue, respectively.

Para el entablado del barco utilicé varios tonos de madera, empezando por un color centrado en pino para el entablado y algunas variaciones de caoba y roble en los laterales.
En el caso del mástil, empleé el mismo tono que el entablado, pero un poco más oscuro. La vela no la pintaré de blanco, sino que utilizaré un tono gris claro y más tarde trabajaré sobre ella. Lo mismo haré con el cielo y el mar, los cuales por ahora serán de color azul claro y oscuro, respectivamente.
Now I will create a new blank layer and, using the airbrush and soft airbrush, I will darken the edges of most of the lines to give a more aesthetic and volumetric touch to the drawing. The shading I will work, as usual, from top to bottom, finishing again at the tail.
Before continuing, I create a new layer in white and, with the strong airbrush, I mark the points of reflections or points of incidence of light. I do this in order to leave the body of the character ready and focus on the rest of the drawing.

After making sure that the shadows, highlights and folds of the clothes were marked, I moved on to work on the background again. This time, I won't create a new layer, but will use the selected tool to give the shadows and reflections on the same layers as the character.
I start with the character's own shadow, then I move on to the details of the decking and, at the end, I give both shadow and soft reflection to the ship's railings. For the mast, I will use lines with the color tones of the planking and the railings. The sail is a diagonal gradient of a bright white and a faint light lilac.

Empiezo por la propia sombra del personaje, luego paso a los detalles del entablado y, al final, doy tanto sombra como reflejo suaves a las barandas del barco. Para el mástil emplearé líneas con los tonos de color del entablado y las barandas. La vela es un degradado diagonal de un color blanco brillante y un lila claro tenue.
The last part of the background that corresponds to the sky and the sea was left for the end. As I told you, this section of the background does not have lineart and I did this in order to test some new brushes that I recently acquired.
First, I apply a vertical gradient to both the blue color of the sky and the sea. For the clouds, I used two different cloud brushes with different relief and color variation.
In the case of the sea, I used a type of skin brush which, with small modifications, creates a foam effect when the size is increased to more than 100 px. Finally, with a fluffy type brush, I paint in light blue all the sea bottom, creating a bubble effect in the water.
Para el final quedó la última parte del fondo que corresponde al cielo y el mar. Como les había comentado, esta sección del fondo no lleva lineart y esto lo hice con el objetivo de probar algunos pinceles nuevos que adquirí recientemente.
Primero aplico un degradado vertical tanto al color azul del cielo como al del mar. Para las nubes empleé dos pinceles de nubes distintos con diferente relieve y variación de color.
En el caso del mar, utilicé un tipo de pincel para piel el cual, con pequeñas modificaciones, crea un efecto de espuma cuando se sube el tamaño a más de 100 px. Por último, con un pincel de tipo mullido, pinto de azul celeste claro todo el fondo marino, creando así un efecto burbuja en el agua.
At the end, after some other retouching, I imported the image to my phone's gallery and there I modified the contrast and saturation, obtaining as a result the image I show you below. I hope you like it.
