Nowadays, it is confusing to know what is real online and what is not because of a lot of fake contents being published, there was a time I was following a trending gist online about a man whose wife cheated on him, He was crying in the video telling how he sacrifices for the lady only for it to be revealed weeks later that it was all a prank.

I felt pity for the man and wanted to follow the gist to the end, so it came as a shock when it was revealed it was a prank. What other reason could make people do such a thing? It is because they need traffic on their content, and they know people love content like that.

Social media monetization made people desperate, and they just dished out anything as long as it drove traffic to their blog. Nowadays, I do not believe things I see online, if you come online to rant and cry about your wife cheating on you, I will just assume it is a prank or lies formed be the creator of the content, If you claim a motor hits you with videos, I will assume it is AI because even AI doesn't let us know real and fake videos anymore...

When it comes to apology videos online, I believe that most of these videos are not genuine; it was done because people criticize them, It is just like intentionally slapping someone and people were mad at you for doing so and really you could calm down the mob down by simply apologizing to the victim.

A good example is the issue of the famous Nigerian TikTokker Peller... He made a video about how he wants Nigerians to stop ranting on TikTok about how the economy of country is crumbling and added that anyone who wants to rant should go and do that in the market.

He is right and wrong in my own opinion. He is right in a way because I also believe that ranting on TikTok does not get anything solved, and if the government becomes provoked, they will just ban TikTok the same way they ban Twitter, and Peller who is among the Nigerians doing so well on that platform will suffer a big loss so I understand he is trying to protect his source of income and other nigerians earning on the platform but the way he convey the message was rude and that was what pissed off most people.

He didn't feel sorry or bad for making such a rude video telling Nigerians to go and rant in the market place until he started losing followers, he lost 1m followers before he made the apology video which means he made the video to make his followers and audience forgive him not because he felt remorseful for the video he made...

Many people are at this table, and they are not apologetically sorry
