Okazało się, że dobrze rozplanowałem kolejność zwiedzania dla naszych gości. Kilka dni temu odwiedziliśmy Ostendę, a wczoraj w dniu wolnym działy się tam dantejskie sceny. W związku z ogromnym napływem turystów złaknionych słońca i ochłody na belgijskim wybrzeżu, w pewnym momencie władze lokalne zdecydowały się zamknąć drogi dojazdowe do miasta, niewielkie miasteczko nie było w stanie wchłonąć więcej turystów.
[ENG] It turned out that I had planned the order of the tour well for our guests. A few days ago we visited Ostend, and yesterday, on our day off, Dantean scenes were happening there. Due to the huge influx of tourists hungry for sun and coolness on the Belgian coast, at one point the local authorities decided to close the access roads to the city, the small town could not absorb any more tourists.
My zdecydowaliśmy się na dzień w Brukseli, dla nas była to kolejna wizyta w stolicy Belgii w przeciągu miesiąca, ale dla niektórych z naszych gości była to pierwsza wizyta, dlatego staraliśmy się pokazać jak najwięcej. Mimo upalnego dnia centrum miasta było pełne turystów, starałem się balansować miedzy najliczniej odwiedzanymi miejscami i tymi mniej ludnymi. Oczywiście na trasie naszej marszruty po Brukseli nie mogło zabraknąć takich miejsc jak Manneken pis, Grand-Place, Jeanneke Pis, Place Sainte-Catherine, Mount of the Arts, Royal Palace of Brussels, Parlement Européen czy Parc du Cinquantenaire.
[ENG] We opted for a day in Brussels, for us it was another visit to the Belgian capital in a month, but for some of our guests it was the first visit, so we tried to show as much as possible. Despite the hot day, the city center was full of tourists, and I tried to balance between the most visited places and those less populous. Of course, on our route through Brussels we couldn't miss such places as Manneken pis, Grand-Place, Jeanneke Pis, Place Sainte-Catherine, Mount of the Arts, Royal Palace of Brussels, Parlement Européen or Parc du Cinquantenaire.
Każde miejsce, które dawało ochłodę i odrobinę cienia, było licznie oblegane przez mieszkańców Brukseli, którzy zdecydowali się pozostać w mieście pierwszego maja, oraz turystów. Jedną z ostatnich atrakcji były lody, na które zaprosiła nas nasza córka, ale żeby ich skosztować musieliśmy najpierw odstać w ponad dwudziestominutowej kolejce.
[ENG] Each place that offered coolness and a bit of shade was besieged in large numbers by Brussels residents who chose to stay in the city on the first of May, and tourists. One of the last attractions was ice cream, which our daughter invited us to try, but in order to taste it we first had to stand in a queue of more than twenty minutes.
