Hello there, Hivers!
They say friends don't make good clients. I can't tell that is true. Some of my friends have made my only good clients for the workshop. My first sell was to a girl who wasn't actually a close friend but someone who trusted my work. That trend has repeated itself many times. Now I have my first sell to a musician friends. And it is an international one.
You might recognize this Venezuelan Cuatro from my recordings. It used to be the one I had reserved for covers that would go up to 3speak. Well, it is not in my hands anymore.
My friend José came back from Switzerland to visit his family. That in all is a good reason to come back to this city, but I would argue it is not enough. On Tuesday, I found a voice message in my WhatsApp and I couldn't believe it was from him.
We talked for a bit and he came to my place later that day. We spent a good chunk of the afternoon talking about many things. I saw some photos of his kid. Since we were on that show and tell, I decided to show him some of my instruments. He didn't say it at first, but he liked my recording instrument. And the next day, he came up with a proposal to buy it.
I haven't sold a single instrument to a musician on my entire time as luthier. So I didn't miss the chance. Long story short, I can add Switzerland as another country where I have an instrument now.
It's good to make a sell after not having any for a long time!
