HI! ANNYEONG! KONNICHIWA HIVERS! It’s been a while. It’s @angelwingsss again and today I’m going to share with you all the day of our pinning ceremony.
It was June 24, 2025, when our pinning ceremony was held. The day of our pinning ceremony, our coordinator told us to arrive at 11 am - 12 nn, because the event will start at exactly 1 pm. I woke up around 8 am, so I started ironing my clothes that I’m going to wear in the ceremony. Around 9 am when I took a bath and started styling my hair. The coordinator said that the girls will have a bun hair, so it took me long enough to properly bun my hair because I have a short hair. It was around 10 am when I went to my cousin’s house because I asked her to do my makeup. It was exactly 11 am when she finished my makeup and my dad was already dressed up too as we are going to leave at 12 nn.
We arrived at the school at 12:40, we stopped by on the guard house to fill up some form and put the name of our parents who is going to attend the ceremony. We were walking on the hallway when I asked my dad to take a quick picture of us too. After that we went straight to the Kadasig Gym, where the event will be held. The venue was nice, and I started looking for my classmates too. I also lead my father on his seat because we have a number and that number will be the number of our parent’s seats.
After a while, I went to my seat too and took some picture with my classmate and solo pic for me. In the stage, there was a big screen, and it was a countdown for the event. The event was extended for another 20 minutes because some of the student hasn’t arrived yet. After a while, the emcee then announced that the event will be starting soon so all of us went on the back and started the line, as we practiced.
The ceremony has started, and we walk in the center then to our respective seats, we remained standing until all the students has arrived on their seats and all the professors and the entrance of colors passed us and went to the stage. After that, we had our prayer and sang the national anthem. It was then that the emcee told us to sit. To be honest my feet was already soaring because our section is the first in line and we remained standing for at least 40 minutes.
After the opening, the emcee called our dean in the front, and she then made a speech. After our dean’s speech, the emcee then called the graduate school professor for another speech. After their speech, the emcee then proceeds to the pinning ceremony- the main event. Our classmates then started lining up for the pinning and our chairman called our names one by one.
When it was my turn, my dad was kind of struggling on pinning me, so I helped him, and it also took us a few seconds to pin it. After that, I walk again in the center and remained standing until our row was complete. The pinning took an hour because there are a total of 400 students, and they must be called one by one. So, while waiting for them to finish, the coordinators allowed us to buy some snacks and drinks just beside the venue. I went to buy a water and wafello because I was already starving.
After the pinning ceremony, the awarding of dean’s list then started. And after that, it was then that we sang our pinning song, which is “You’re on your own, kid” by Taylor Swift. After singing our pinning song, the president of nexus, torch and the chairman of events made a speech. During the speech of our chairman of events, who is also our co-student, we burst into tears because his message was talking about a co-student who came to him regarding if he/she could be include in the pinning list even if he/she has a failing grade. In his speech, he highlighted that he is a believer of trust the process. He shared to us that there was no pinning ceremony for our batch, but with the helped of his team and his co-students too, they made the ceremony successful. So, in the midst of his speech, all of us including him was already tearing up and crying because he really showed and expressed his gratitude to those students who helped him to make the event possible.
After his speech, all of us was on standing ovation applauding him. It was indeed a heartfelt speech. After that, the emcee then made some speech, and it was then the end of our pinning ceremony. After the pinning ceremony, we had a photo-op each section. After the photo-op, my friends and I then went outside the venue to take some group photo and then I asked my friend to take a photo of me and my dad together. After the picture taking, my dad and I decided to take our lunch in the nearest McDo. So, we went there and order a chicken fillet and a burger. After finishing our meal, we then headed home.
